Geotechnics
Ground and structure monitoring:
The development of calculation codes (finite elements, support calculations, seism, etc.) and the improvement of construction techniques allow ambitious projects to be launched regularly but the geological reality does not always bow to established plans. Statistics from 1982 to 2002 on accidents regarding tunnel diggings in occidental Europe show that 54% of urban tunnel building projects without real time monitoring have suffered at least one collapse.
In parallel to the development of these building techniques, real-time monitoring of ground and structures stands out as a powerful means of control, risk management and project optimisation (cf. observational methods).
It enables:
- Structural guarantee and buildings safety,
- Sharing of real-time information with all interested parties,
- Optimisation and simplification of the decision making process,
- Refinement of project performance
Our tools
GEOSCOPE
Because data communication and visualisation as well as real time reporting are of intrinsic importance to good quality monitoring, Since 1993, Sol Data has been developing a very powerful and user-friendly instrumentation software called Geoscope.
Geoscope is now known worldwide as the reference software in the field of instrumentation. Geoscope allows the use of measurement frequencies adapted to the dynamic answers of grounds and structures, as well as a real time Internet access to all your worksites.
CYCLOPS
Sol Data and the IGN have been co-developing Cyclops (Cyclic Optical Surveyor) and Centaur since 1993. Cyclops and Centaur are now known worldwide as reference tools for monitoring stuctures.
More than just a robotic total station, Cyclops is run by intelligent software based on our ten-year-experience.
Cyclops allows data real time processing, digital transmission and display of any structural movement on Geographic Information Systems.
SolData is the world leader in automatic topography survey thanks to Cyclops, with yet more than 1450 Cyclops installed around the world.
