Real time monitoring of the La Prat Pier in Barcelona

In March 2007, following the collapse of 600 (out of the 1500m) of docking line at the largest container terminal currently under construction in Spain, the Port Authority of Barcelona awarded Sol Data Iberia S.A. the contract for the unharmed part of the pier to monitor (in real time) and control its stability.

Thus, we will install:

  • 60 in place inclinometers to control the horizontal movements of the pier cements
  • 12 settlement gauges to control the vertical movements of the pier cements
  • 81 piezometers to control the interstitial pressures of the pier and the hydraulic fill cements
