Harbours

Harbour expansion often requires extensive reconstruction of infrastructure in order to accommodate the strong increase of maritime trade. At the same time, upgrading existing works is essential in order to optimise port capacities.

Sol Data’s experience in this field has meant that we are able to meet the monitoring needs of civil and naval ports. Amongst our most significant references:

  • Barcelona harbour: design, supply, installation and maintenance of geotechnical instrumentation involving over 100 sensors, located 60m below sea level to provide real time monitoring of substratum deformation during the building of 6km of new dikes.
  • Brest naval arsenal: real-time geotechnical, hydraulic, vibration and structural monitoring of 3 historical dry docks over a 10 year period.

Our services include:
  • Geotechnical, hydraulic, vibration and structural monitoring,
  • Supply and installation of sensors, acquisition systems and telecommunications,
  • Real-time displays, software, database, measurement reports,
  • Maintenance of installed monitoring system
  • Anchor and load tests
  • Marine geophysical measurements (seismic refraction, lateral sonar, magnetism)
  • Ground penetrating radar survey, to identify the position of steel and prestress cables. localisation of steel and prestress cables,
  • Surveying, photographic reports, topographic measurements,
  • Diving assignments, barge installations,
  • Expertise in marine monitoring (corrosion, marine cables, etc.)
  • Swell measurement and meteorological buoys
